Lydia Tomkiw is a senior reporter focused on hedge funds for the Financial Times’ FundFire. Her work covering finance, economics, international, and domestic news has appeared in numerous publications including the Financial Times, The Christian Science Monitor, Foreign Policy, PRX’s The World, Slate, Saveur, International Business Times, and the Nieman Journalism Lab at Harvard. She has reported from Ukraine, Poland, and Indonesia.

From 2011-2012, Lydia was a Princeton in Asia journalism fellow at The Jakarta Globe where she worked as a journalist and web editor. She was the 2015 Google Journalism fellow at the Committee to Protect Journalists. She served as the assistant editor for Nationalities Papers from 2014-2020.

She received her BA with honors from Wesleyan University and a Master’s degree in International Affairs from Columbia University.

Languages: Fluent in Ukrainian. Professional working ability in French. Basic Russian and Bahasa Indonesia.
